Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website — regardless of vision, hearing, motor skills or the capabilities of their device.
Updated: 1 September 2026
1. Our commitment
Oleksandrivskyi Lyceum ensures the accessibility of its website in accordance with Article 26 of the Law of Ukraine “On Education”, the Law of Ukraine “On the Fundamentals of Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine” and the national standard DSTU EN 301 549:2022, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
2. Conformance status
This website has been developed to conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA. We review the pages regularly and fix any issues found.
3. What has already been done
- A dedicated version for people with visual impairments: four high-contrast colour schemes, text enlargement up to 150 %, increased letter spacing, a serif typeface, and the option to switch off images and animations.
- Full keyboard navigation, a clearly visible focus indicator on every interactive element and a “Skip to main content” link.
- Semantic HTML5 markup, ARIA landmarks, a correct heading hierarchy and text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Text contrast of at least 4.5 : 1 and at least 3 : 1 for large text.
- Respect for the system “reduced motion” setting: parallax and moving effects are switched off automatically.
- Responsive design: the site works from 320 pixels wide and at 200 % zoom without loss of content.
- Touch targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels.
- All information on the site can be read with JavaScript disabled.
4. Known limitations
- Some documents are hosted on external resources (Google Drive, the Ministry of Education website) in PDF and DOCX formats — we cannot guarantee their full accessibility. On request we will provide the content in an accessible format.
- Archive photographs in the gallery have generalised text descriptions.
- The Google Maps map is a third-party service; the text address and a directions link are provided as an alternative.
5. How to switch on the version for people with visual impairments
